Happy 2009! We went to Mt. Ida to ring in the new year. It was quiet and relaxing with the perfect blend of rest and play...and it was just what we all needed! Daddy William is working on mapping out the land over there, so we did some four wheeler riding, which also included some trail clearing for Dad.

Wm and I sat on the four wheeler watching diligently and sweating just thinking about how much work Daddy was having to do cutting those trees and hauling them out of the way.

Wm's new favorite thing to do in Mt. Ida...throw rocks in the creek. Much more fun to do there than it is at the creek right by our house.

Mommy's favorite thing....the horses. There are 12 of them, and I love every one of them.
They're always so happy to see us. :)

Whenever we take them apples, they swarm, anxious to be the one to get the next bite. You can't see him in this picture, but Wm is sitting on the four wheeler. I would blame it on the horses, but, uh, I think Mommy (or her belly/backside) is in the way.

Daddy had to cut and split more firewood for us because we burn through it so fast. This was Wm's first attempt at the log splitter, and he did a great job! Daddy has three fingers left.

This cabin was originally built in the late 1800s. A local lake was being flooded in the 1970s, and the cabin was going to be covered with water. William's Dad and Grandad took it apart, log by log, and relocated it to their property. It is as rustic as it looks...no electricity and no running water. Daddy Wm would live there if he could. And yes, that's Dad on the roof, putting a new damper on the fireplace.

Fabulous pics Mary! I know you guys had a great time. Missed seeing you but maybe one day soon. You look beautiful and I'm just beside myself with excitement to see if William will have a baby brother or sister! Take care of yourself. Hugs, KMO
