This post could arguably win an award for the worst birthday coverage ever. Charlie turned 3 in February, and let me tell you, it was something. The week of his birthday, all 3 of the boys had the stomach bug. A pretty violent one that you probably don't want to hear about, and that I certainly don't want to remember! I will say that we pulled an all nighter for the first time ever. Between throw ups, clean ups, and everything else, Daddy Wm and I did not sleep one wink for an entire night. I do not know how the two of us didn't get it, but thankfully we didn't. So, poor Charlie's birthday.....he missed the Boyce family birthday celebration because of the bug. Fortunately, I didn't plan a party for his birthday, because it would have been cancelled, too. On his actual birthday, I took him to Kroger to pick out a cake, knowing darn well he wouldn't eat it. (He could barely keep down Gatorade). He picked out a white one with sprinkles, and didn't touch it. It was fine with me, because I would have cleaned up a regurgitated version 30 minutes later. But, he couldn't turn 3 without some sort of cake, fully adorned with candles to blow out. The grandparents got him a balance bicycle for his birthday, and he was well enough to give it a spin inside the house.
What he is up to these days.... this child is FULL of energy. He loves "little tiny" things and loves to hold his thumb and pointer fingers close together by his eye to show how "little tiny" these things are. He is the four wheeler king, and wants to ride the one Santa brought him all the time. He has the most infectious laugh I've ever heard, it can heal about anything! He is still learning how to share with Shep. He is a clean freak about certain things. One drop of water on his clothes, and he has an immediate outfit change. It is quite common for him to change his pj shirt at least once before he falls asleep because he spills water while drinking it before bed. If he plays outside, he is rarely dirty, whereas William is muddy head to toe. He is obsessed with his "football shirt"....a Razorback jersey that he often wears during the day, then to sleep in, and then again the following day (if there are no spills on it). He loves to do things on his own....like put on clothes, shoes, brush teeth, etc. He is not the least bit interested in potty training.
So, sweet little Charlie rang in his 3rd birthday with a bang. We wouldn't expect anything less from this little monkey that we love to pieces!!
