Let's face it. I'm not winning any Mom of the year awards in the blogging world. I'm just now getting around to posting Christmas for crying out loud! The last day of school before Christmas break, William's kindergarten class went to see Frog and Toad, which was followed by a "holiday" party in their classroom. The kids had red cookies and lots of other red and green food items. That afternoon, we left for Texarkana to have Christmas with MiMi and Grandad. We stopped halfway in Arkadelphia, as usual, to break up the drive. While at Mickey d's, poor little Wm had red coming out both ends (I will kindly leave the more specific details to the imagination, but that child didn't eat ANY red food for a month). We turned around, (fully loaded car AND trailer, with two stinky dogs in the way back that would want to make any human with a working nose want to vomit) and came home, and that event set the precedent for the rest of Christmas Break, oh boy!!
Oh, and did I mention that earlier that week, Charlie gave his passies to the monkeys at the zoo?? To say that child was attached to his "pappy", as he called it, would be an injustice. They were a part of him. We might as well have cut off a limb when we gave them up. Nearly two months later, I am still suffering reprocussions.....the child is not napping much and is up late EVERY night. Oh the joys, and next comes potty training, whoopiiiiiiieeeeeeeee!!!! ;)
Poor William on Christmas Eve. Daddy and Charlie went to church, and I stayed home with William and Shep....
Reading The Night Before Christmas to our precious boys!
We made our annual trip to Mt Ida for ringing in the new year. We took the boys' new four wheeler that Santa brought, and they hardly stepped foot in the house the entire time we were there. New Year's weekend has become such a happy tradition for our family, love it!
