Halloween Project

We don't have much going on this week, and in order to keep us sane, I thought some Halloween crafts would help pass some time.  The one we picked for today was painting rocks and turning them into pumpkins and spiders.  Perfect!  It can be done outside, the paint can be messy, and it's (relatively) indestructible for William.  We went to the creek by our house to find some rocks, and I must say, finding rocks that are somewhat round are a LOT harder than you might think. However, I found some that would make do, and our project was off to a good start!  Here is what we ended up with.  Glamorous, they are not, but it made for a fun and inexpensive project!  William still managed to amputate the legs of a spider or two, but it's all about the fun, right?

Bragging Rights

I have to brag on my sweet Mom for just a minute.  She is an impressionist artist, and quite a fantastic one (no bias here).  She recently surprised William and I with this fabulous painting of little William and me.  This picture really doesn't do the painting justice...to see it in person brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it.  It's something that we will always treasure.  To think that this painting will eventually hang in my children and grandchildren's houses warms my heart.  I really envy her talent and am so appreciative that she is always so generous to share her art with us girls.  Not only is she a fabulous artist, but she is possibly the most humble person I know.  She would never in a million years brag on herself, so I thought I'd take a minute and do it for her.  :)  Thanks, Mom, we love you!

Big Weekend

After sitting in a hospital waiting room all day Saturday waiting to meet precious baby Lee, I discovered I was almost the last person on planet earth to create a family blog.  I was promised almost anyone can do it, but I'm not the most computer savvy person, so bear with me until I get the hang of things!  So, as I was waiting for Elizabeth and Bryce's baby to be born, the Williams (husband and son) had a BIG weekend.  They went to Glenwood, AR (I know, didn't know it existed either until our friends moved there, no offense, Tim & Kara!), to see a rodeo at the local fair, go muttin' bustin', canoeing, fishing, and camping.  Yes, all in one weekend.  They had such a good boy's weekend with Tim, Nate, and Zac, but needless to say, it was a LOT for a 2 1/2 year old.  William was one tired chicken when they got home yesterday!

And, after a long day at the hospital, I finally got to meet baby Lee at about 11:00pm.  I was so proud of myself for remembering to take my camera with me.  The only problem...battery was dead, so I don't have any pictures of that precious bundle of joy.  He's healthy, a big boy, and they're all doing well!  Congrats Liz and Bryce, we love you and baby Lee!
