IT'S A BOY!!

SHEPHARD EUGENE MCMILLAN
"SHEP"
JULY 14, 2010
8 LBS 7 OZ
19 3/4 INCHES

Baby Shep was born on Wednesday morning at 7:55 am. He is the most perfect little thing I have ever seen (other than William and Charlie, that is)! We are totally beside ourselves and could not be happier to be raising a house full of little monkeys!

Uncle Conner, young Conner (he can't be called little anymore....he's way too big!), and Jack
Charlie's reaction to the whole thing was to cry. He didn't want anything to do with me whatsoever!
The other "littles" coming to see me, their wheels turning like crazy. What's that cord, what's that stuck in your hand, what happened to the baby.....
A few of my besties, they were so sweet to come share my special day! Thanks so much for being there!
Grandad getting to visit Shep in the NICU. He had some fluid in his lungs and had to stay in the NICU until Thursday night.
I had to wait until about 10:00pm to get to the NICU and hold him. It was a long and weird day....giving birth and then just hanging out in my hospital room staring at the wall with no baby. Good thing it wasn't my first baby, or I think I would have flipped out. :)
First pic with Mom and Dad
Whew....out of the NICU and sleeping peacefully in Mommy's room.

Charlie finally acknowledging that there's now another person under our roof.
The difference between girls and boys....above, Mary Ellis couldn't hold him enough. When I asked William to hold him so I could take a picture his response...."but I don't want to."
Both big brothers are doing GREAT now. Charlie doesn't pay too much attention to Shep, but he's been sweet when he does. William has been an angel to him and even helped me give Shep his first bath. I wish I had pictures of that....both boys were standing on a stool staring at him with wonder and amazement all over their face. It was really sweet...and funny, too. I'll post some more later, I'll try to get some good pictures this week while Mom is here!

Baby Day Eve

Well, in less than 24 hours, I'll be holding the 5th member of our little family! I really can't talk about it too much or I start getting anxiety about the whole c-section thing. You'd think after 2 I'd be over it, but that big ole needle still gives me the quivers. I think tomorrow will be a mixed bag of emotions, as I will miss my Dad more than words can say but I'll be so overjoyed by this precious little package I've been carrying. I really can't wait to meet him/her and find out what flavor we're getting! We will get to the hospital around 5:30am, and my surgery is scheduled for 7:30. We should have baby news shortly thereafter! Anyway, there will be lots of time for that after tomorrow. Here is some of what we've been up to the last month and a half....

Canoe/camping trip with the Oosterhous clan (no, Mommy didn't go)! William loves these sweet boys and talks about them all the time. Wish they could play together more!

Week at the lake after Memorial weekend....we figured it was the only type of vacation we'd get this summer! :) It's perfect because it's so close and it's so peaceful there. We love it.

Playing in the mud....it would be an every day occurrence if Momma would allow it, but I try to limit it to a max of once a week. The cleanup makes me crazy!

Slip 'n sliding in the front yard...I think this was Father's Day...all my favorite boys.

Could still just eat him up. I love Charlie's age, even though he's a complete mess!
Fireworks!
Trying to set the yard on fire. :) I think it was really just a smoke bomb.
And most of all, we love the creek. We have a million pictures of William playing in it when he was Charlie's age, but we didn't have as much luck with Charlie's session. :)

Baby news to follow....hopefully I'll get to it sooner rather than later!
